I came to the legal profession as a second career after many years as a director in human resources and labour relations management. After more than 25 years in business, I applied to law school, where I gained the skills necessary to effectively assist people with their legal issues. While attending school, I benefited from experiential opportunities working in Legal Aid clinics engaged in disability law, family law and poverty law. I graduated from Osgoode Hall Law School in 2018 and completed my articles in a boutique family law litigation firm. I joined DeRusha Law Firm as an Associate in August 2019.
I am passionate about helping people navigate their legal challenges and resolve their disputes in an efficient and cost-effective manner. I am able to draw on my many years of professional and life experience, and leverage my background in negotiation and conflict resolution, approaching legal matters with common sense, empathy and compassion.
Having raised my two sons as a single parent, I enjoy good food, good wine and playing soccer year round every Sunday, rain or shine.
My practice is currently focused on family law, but I look forward to helping clients with their civil and criminal challenges as well.
