Collaborative Family Law

At DeRusha Law Firm, we strive to negotiate and come to a settlement without the need for court rulings. This may be done by mediation or arbitration. We have family law lawyers (called an attorney in the United States) who have been trained in the collaborative approach and are prepared to negotiate with opposing counsel in order to resolve the matter. The main concepts of collaborative family law include:

• trying to resolve family law disputes without going to court
• obtaining full disclosure of all important information
• clients actively involved in the resolution of the issues
• less conflict and more cooperation
• looking at as many options for settlement as possible
• creating a Separation Agreement that resolves all issues on a final basis

Court Proceeding

It is sometimes necessary to bring a court proceeding in order to deal with issues that arise in family law disputes. The lawyers at DeRusha Law Firm have experience in varying levels of court throughout Mississauga, Brampton, Milton, Oakville, and Toronto, including Peel Region, Halton Region, and sometimes as far as Oshawa.

We have five lawyers who are skilled and experienced in family law, including:
